Surrounded

Never Alone

Scripture: A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. -Psalms 68:5
Power Chapter: Psalm 68

If you feel alone today, you’re not the only one. Even if you’re surrounded by people, it’s easy to feel like nobody understands you quite the way you hope they would. The hopes and dreams you have in your heart sometimes feel further away and more impossible than they really are, and it’s a feeling that brings grief and doubt. What if the things we wait for never come? The comfort we have is that God will never change. His love for you doesn’t waver on the ups or downs. He won’t love you more the day your dream comes true, and He won’t love you less the day you struggle in your faith. He is right with you, and He has cleared His schedule to hang out with you. He will be your best friend no matter how things turn out, and He will help you through every change, whether it’s the kind you hope for or the kind that knocks you off your feet, sometimes simultaneously. Yes, life is tough. Yes, there’s so much pain. Yes, the future is uncertain. But God is with you. That’s the game changer. He will endure alongside you, holding you up breath by breath, until you’re stronger than what you’re facing.

[The #ATLdevo will be paused for November and December, to focus on family, rest, thanksgiving, and editing book #2. More devos will return in 2017. Have a wonderful holiday season, meditating on the coming of our Messiah and all the fresh starts He gives.]
